When students are given the opportunity to use their voices and take the lead, incredible things happen. CPSF’s Youth Empowerment & Action (YEA!) Grants provide funding for student-led projects that promote equity, expand opportunities, and enhance educational experiences in ways that matter to students.
This year’s grant recipients are taking action to address real-world challenges through their innovative ideas:
Crescent Valley Youth in Government (Clarence Fernando)—Removing financial barriers so all students can participate in a hands-on legislative experience at the state capitol.
BIPOC Open Mic Night (Penelope Seldera-Bahnson & Lior Onaly-Kelsey)—Hosting a BIPOC Open Mic Night with a student art gallery to increase awareness of BIPOC musicians, artists, comedians, poets, and other performers.
STEM Outreach Club (Maya Dobson & Emily Gu)—Providing accessible and free after-school STEM engagement opportunities for elementary school students and developing leadership and group management skills for high school volunteers.
Go for Goals (Ben Krawchuk Miller)—Installing soccer goals at a K-8 school to foster equity, increase physical activity, and improve fairness during recess play.
These projects are made possible by the generosity of the Corvallis community. When you support CPSF, you empower students to make a difference, develop leadership skills, and create opportunities for their peers.
