IMAGINE (Innovation, comMunity, Action, chanGe, Inclusivity, collaboratioN, Engagement) Grants are awarded by CPSF each year to projects or programs created by Corvallis School District staff that fuel students’ excitement to learn and advance equity.
During the 2023-2024 school year, CPSF awarded an IMAGINE Grant titled “Everyone is an Author,” which brought creativity to life for 165 K-3 students at Mountain View Elementary. The project encouraged students to collaborate in writing their own class books, with each student receiving a published copy of their work. The goal was to nurture creativity and foster a love for reading and writing in our youngest learners.
Shayna Hicks, a teacher at Mountain View, described the excitement on the day students received their books:
“The sense of pride in our classroom was incredible. As the books were distributed, students eagerly flipped through the pages to find their own contributions. The joy on their faces was priceless.”
