The Corvallis Public Schools Foundation has awarded $19,000 to students in the Corvallis School District through our Youth Empowerment and Action Grants (YEA! Grants) program.
Launched in 2022, the YEA! Grants initiative is designed to ignite engagement among students in grades K-12, encouraging them to take an active role in shaping their educational environment. Through these grants, students are empowered to research, plan, budget, and execute projects under the guidance of a project mentor. This year, CPSF is proud to support 14 student-led projects, including an LGBTQIA+ art installation, a cultural week celebrating diverse cultures and traditions, and a native plant restoration project, among other initiatives.
“YEA! Grants provide a unique platform for students to voice their ideas and drive positive change within their schools”, says Angela Hibbard, Executive Director of CPSF. “These opportunities foster creativity, critical thinking, and a sense of ownership among our students.”
CPSF celebrates the creativity and commitment of the students involved and looks forward to seeing the positive impact of these projects on the Corvallis school community.
