Did you know that you can make a tax deductible donation to the Corvallis Public Schools Foundation and earmark it for sustainability? Now is a great moment to do so. This fall, an anonymous donor will match the first $1,000 in contributions for sustainability in our schools.
CPSF is deeply committed to sustainability in our organization, schools, and community. We seek opportunities to promote responsible stewardship, resource conservation, and climate action through innovative k-12 initiatives. We endorse the efforts of the Corvallis School Board, staff and students to increase sustainability in schools and buildings. Learn more about the school district’s sustainability work here.
As an education foundation, a commitment to sustainability means considering environmental ethics in all that we do, and striving to minimize our own organizational carbon footprint. It also means using a sustainability lens when we evaluate funding opportunities. We place a high priority on projects and programs that:
- Encourage leadership and student engagement around sustainability.
- Create authentic, real-world learning opportunities that help students understand issues that affect our environment.
- Advance sustainability in school district operations. This includes the way the district builds and maintains facilities, manages use of energy and resources, provides nutritious food options, and handles waste.
The support of the community is a critical component of success as we strive toward a more just and sustainable future.
Please contribute now to double the impact of your donation. Don’t forget to mention the sustainability fund.
Thank you for your partnership!
