Improving graduation rates, one student at a time

The Corvallis Public Schools Foundation strives to make it possible for all students to participate and succeed in school.

Research tells us that students who are not meeting grade level proficiencies in primary grades will continue to lag as they advance to high school. In addition, historically underserved students score lower than average at all grade levels.  Private donations are making a difference for these students.

In 2013, the Corvallis Public Schools Foundation worked with school principals to address the need for greater support for students in math and writing.  Since that time, with funding from the Foundation, hundreds of students have attended summer school, earned credits, and gained academic confidence in small class settings. We continue to fund targeted interventions for students during the summer months and to work with school district leadership to explore other programs that will help students stay on course and achieve their goals.
