Woodstock's Spring for Kids Run

Each year, Corvallis Public Schools Foundation organizes a Spring for Kids Run. This spring event begins in Avery Park and has a 5k and 2k race. Since 2004, Woodstock's Pizza has graciously sponsored the event. Last year, Strands became our first Competition Sponsor, giving a prize to at least one participating student at every school in Corvallis. The run has provided nearly $50,000 in grant funds for teachers in Corvallis since its inception.

The 2010 run was Saturday, March 13th. Nearly 400 runners participated in the two events making this our most successful event yet!

Traveling Trophy Winners

CSD509J Employee Team of Four: Corvallis High School Team One - Robert Blackman, Dan Kammerzelt, Matt King, and Matt McDonough - with a combined time of 94:08. This is 7 minutes, 21 seconds faster than the 2nd place team, Adams Elementary. This year, we had 8 teams from 6 schools or departments. Many thanks to the 509J District Office, Adams Elementary, Corvallis High School, Lincoln School, Jefferson Elementary, and Mountain View Elementary for participating in the Team Competition!

Highest Percentage/Elementary School: Jefferson Elementary with more than 8% of their student body participating! Hoover Elementary came in a close second and Mountain View Elementary placed third. This year, we had runners from every Corvallis elementary school.

Highest Percentage/Middle School: Linus Pauling Middle School beat out Cheldelin Middle School for the traveling trophy by 0.1%. What a close call!

Highest Percentage/High School: Both Corvallis High School and Crescent Valley High School doubled their participation rates this year, but Corvallis High wins the trophy with 0.5% more students running or volunteering.
